In 2009, an extensive renovation took place at Lamberton, where over 1,000 panes of glass were replaced. Considered controversial by some was the removal of the large palm trees and the 'tropical room', due to lack of storage. Caught by the late morning sun in December, Lamberton makes for a striking silhouette. In 1888 when the building was first built, it cost over 300,000.
